How to be beautiful inside and out | A collaboration

As I focused on making my outward appearance beautiful I met and had a wonderful chat with a classmate of mine. Through our discussions another classmate was added and we three realized that we all focused on beauty in one form or the other.

Evelyn (also a blogger) focused on the biblical side of things
Deon (Blogger) focused on the healthier side of it all.
And guess what? Your girl was smack dab in the middle.

So we decided to use all of our knowledge to collaborate. I was given the opportunity to give Evelyn a makeover which she loved and to also give Deon some tips that a man can use to have his skin looking more youthful. {I use these tips with my husband}

To see Evelyn's makeover watch the video below

In an effort to greater understand the physical part of it all. I immediately consulted a doctor and was put on a diet because I had so many complications health wise, though I may not look it I have a whole lot to deal with where my health is concerned.
As a result I was put on a very strict diet called a low Amylose Diet.

To see and learn more about my new diet watch the video below of me      preparing my meals.

  • Evelyn also gave us biblical proof / backing to go with all that we were doing.
What does the Bible have to say about physical beauty?
1Timothy 4:8 tells us: Bodily exercised profits little, but godliness is profitable for the life that now is and the life that is to come.
It does not say physical exercise is not profitable, but reminds us that its profit is only for this life. This demonstrates that my emphasis on it should be with the understanding that it’s not an investment in eternity.

  • Esther in the Bible was described as “fair and beautiful” (Esther 2:7b). Before she could be brought before the king she was prescribed a beauty regimen that lasted all of 12 months and included: six months with oil of myrrh, six months of perfuming and other beauty treatments (Esther 2:12). The Bible records that the king loved her above all the other women and made her queen. But Esther’s physical beauty was matched by her character, which made her even more attractive to everyone in the palace, and God used her greatly to save his people the Jews at that time.
  • In Daniel 1, three of the Jews who were set apart to work directly in the king’s palace chose to engage in a vegetarian diet for a specific period of time, as opposed to consuming the king’s lavish dietary offerings. Just as eating the right foods will keep us healthy and strong, studying the Bible will nourish our hearts.
Who would have thought that these three aspects of our journey would all be seeded in the scriptures? Surely not me.

In the end of it all we all garnered knowledge that would stick with us till the end.

Ten Tips to look good on the go. | Quick and easy | Collaboration – Makeup on the Go

All too often when we women are traveling, we are plagued with the scenario of "what makeup should I pack?"

I for one have been there, but I have developed a system that I would like to share with you.

I also shared this system with a fellow classmate who has a travel blog and she too now swears by my method.

Tips:
1. Always have to lipsticks, two different shades.
2. A foundation and concealer combo is always a great must have.
3. Brushes, foundation, powder, blush and a blending eye shadow brush.
4. A quad eye-shadow palette.
5. Blush, small single size.
6. Powder; optional as the two in one combination of the concealer foundation can be used without  it.
7. Mascara
8. Eyeliner pencils; black and brown
9. Travel size face primer.
10. Lastly, don't be afraid to use your hands. They worked well long before all these other tools were invented.

Don't believe that these things can work? Then check this video out of Jalissa demonstrating all that I said. All in under 5 minutes.

These tips can also work for mothers who have little to no time to do a makeup look, These tips were also shared with another blogger whose blog centers around raising her two boys.

These are her results

The best Hair for a natural looking crochet install | How to do Natural Looking Crochet Braid

Ok Ladies, the hype is real up in this joint, and I mean really real!!
Let's talk crochet braids shall we?

As many know I love me some crochet braids, however, the reality that not all things are created equal is a very accurate statement. Especially as it relates to bulk hair!

Let me say this, I have finally found the one that I am looking for and my gosh am I head over heals in love.

Today I was out and about and many men complimented me on my (Natural hair) ha ha.
I was grinning like a Cheshire cat seeing a fat mouse.

As you all would imagine after trying this hair I immediately went back to the store to repurchase more, because I know that when this little no name hair becomes (a name) I would be on the hunt for it.
  • I used 4 & 1/4 packs of hair.
  • The brand: Urban Beauty "Jamaican Braid"
  • Price: $34.95
  • Beauty Supply Store: Pennywise Arima (Yes you read right, finally they are stepping up their game)
  • To get the curl that I wanted I used:
    Thinning shears, a razor comb,
Players moisturizing sheen spray (I swear by this stuff, it is the only!! thing that moisturizes my hair in any type of braid style)

Water and a whole lot of man power.
To see how I achieved this style the video is below

Comment below if there is anything that I may have missed and that you would like to know. I got you!

Vintage Makeup under 15 minutes After cooking his favourite dish.

I was recruited by two very talented ladies to collaborate in recreating a look from the 1950's-60's era.

There was a twist though, I had under 15 minutes to do it...

Why under fifteen minutes? Simple, after preparing a meal for your husband you really don't want to spend hours getting ready, however with the right tools and the right products anything is possible.

After the ladies made a meal of 'Coconut Dumplings and Smoked Herring' (I was not there because one ingredient in this meal I am deathly allergic too, but man.... was I tempted) I came over to work my divaesk magic on Stacy.

Winged eye liner, mascara, and a dab blush on the cheekbones. Lips:classy ruby woo and The classic false mole. Lastly I created the Lucille Ball hairstyle to compliment it all. (Can you say Lucy I'm home!!!)
The Video below will show you the complete process of getting the look together.
   1. To see the food being prepared and to get the full recipe follow this link to Carla's Blog.
She is an amazing Caribbean cook. http://www.caribbeanflavours.blogspot.com/?m=1

Date night Look | Dark Lips and a head scarf

I had ample time to get ready this time ladies and gents and because of this I decided to go full on glam.

  1. On my lips is the La Girl liquid matte lipstick in the shade black currant.
  2. My cheeks none other than Mac's Raizin.
  3. Foundation my holy grail: Jordana two in one foundation and concealer.
  4. Lashes are from AliExpress.
  5. Mascara and liquid liner: Ps. love brand (Primark London Brand)
  6. On my eyes: The Lorac Pro Palette
  7. Highlighter: la girl pro concealer

That's it, all that was used and because I did not want to wear a wig or do anything extra with my hair, a scarf did wonders paired with those dark plump lips.

All in all my night was wonderful and as usual my makeup game was always on point.

The video below shows how I did what I did.
Feel free to ask me as many questions that you want to, you know I got ya!
