Choosing the right jewelry to compliment the look | In anticipation Bday look | Update #4

Again guys this is going to be a very short blog post so I know some will love it.

We are just days away from my Birthday and the anticipation is building.

Let's talk Jewelry shall we?

As I stated in my previous post, the eye look is all about those smokey black and gold eyes that will compliment my popping berry red lips. Likewise my jewelry must also compliment.

The jewelry of choice is none other than the classic pearl studs. Why studs? Simple, I want my look to be clean and seamless remember? Anything else too colorful, big or long would take away from the entire look.

Remember that I said that I do not want my face to look busy/ like there is too much going on? So my jewelry must also reflect this also.

A Diva can look sexy and classy at the same time ladies, it's all in the completed look.

Next up my clothing and foot wear of choice.

Smokey Eye Look & Eye shadow palettes | Bday look Update #3

It's Bday update time!! We spoke about the lipstick that I want to use and we also spoke of the foundation love that I found.

Now, let's talk about the eyes. This is going to be a short post!

The eye look of choice is none other than the smokey eyes.

Why the smokey eyes? Simply because I do not want my eye-shadow to be too popping so as to cause confusion in my look.

What I mean is that, because my lips will be red and I want that to be my key focal point, my eye look should compliment and not compete.

There are different kinds of smokey eye looks mind you but the look in particular that I am going for is a gold black smoke.

As you see to the left this is exactly what I am going for.

This look was not done by me but by another MUA and the model is a fellow classmate who is also a television news personality  "Cherrylene Lewis" who works at CNMG Trinidad and Tobago Limited. I loved her look so much that I asked her to snap and send it to me.
She obliged!

Now that I have the eye look that I want, I now need to decide on the palette to create this look.
The Palette that I would be using has not yet been decided but I am between these two palettes.

Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Which do y'all think I should use?

How to choose the perfect foundattion for your skin type and tone | How to look sexy for your birthday part 2

Let's talk foundations.

As I stated before in my previous blog these upcoming blogs will focus on my birthday look.

As you can see above I have inserted some foundations that I have used, both high and low end. I can honestly say that I grew to like them but never fell in love with them.
In the end I spent quite a bit of money on foundations that I soon stopped using.

My problem was that I did not understand my skin fully, followed the hype on certain products and I understand my skin tone or how the knowledge of my skin tone / undertone affects the type of foundation that I would buy and should use.

Some insight into skin tones / undertones and how it should be considered in choosing the right foundations.
  1. If you're cool the veins on your inner wrist appear blue, so you want to look for a foundation that has rosier, redder, or blue base.
  2. If you're warm, the veins on your wrist appear green, so look for a foundation that has a golden or yellow base.
  3. Neutral. It means you have an equal number of blue or green veins. If gold jewelry melts into your skin, you have warm undertones. If silver does, you have cool undertones, and if both flatter you, you are a neutral.
Now that all those technicalities are out of the way. Let me just say that at the end, after using many foundations. I just settled for using a concealer.

Then the most amazing thing happened for me. I had been seeing this foundation for a while and on a whim decided to try it and wallah in as little as a few seconds I fell in love.

The consistency, the coverage the smell.
I became hooked!
A tube foundation, by a drug store brand that actually worked, and, I did not have to use boat loads of it to get full coverage. The price!! Only $24.99 tt

So, after saying all of that. This foundation is the one that I will most definitely be using on my birthday!

How to look sexy for your birthday part 1 | HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT RED LIPSTICK

Hello lovelies! It's my birthday in a few weeks and I thought, instead of me posting a get ready with me video or a picture (which y'all will see). Let me do it a little different this time around.

Let me show the process and how I get my popping looks.
So, as of today. Twice a week I will show y'all little snippets of inspiration that will come together to create my flawless Diva-bday look.

For today's Inspiration! Red lips
I always decide on what makeup I would like to rock for my birthday first then work my way around it. This year, It's all about red lips.
Think of juicy, red, ripe, plump plums.
Thought of it? Yup! That's how I want my lips too look. Juicy! hahaha. Nothing too bright but not overly dark.

So, here are some tips to choosing the right color lipstick.
  1. Find your correct tone: Warm-toned reds (orange-based) tend to look better on warmer complexions. Cool-toned reds (blue-based or look pink when sheered out) tend to be more flattering against cooler complexions.
  2. Find the right formula: nothing too creamy, thick, or feels like lipgloss. Why?These formulas are more prone to bleeding (moving on the lips, getting on your chin etc...)
  3. Deeper, darker reds are always more wearable than than the brighter reds.
